5. Signs and Symptoms of a Blood Clot
In addition to the internal feelings you might get with a blood clot, there are a few other helpful signs and symptoms of blood clots. If you get a blood clot in your arm or leg, there might be swelling, the skin may appear reddish, the skin might feel warm to the touch, or the area may look swollen. If you are experiencing any of these, it may be an indication of deep-vein thrombosis, which should be consulted by a doctor right away. DVT can lead to a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot going to your lungs), the signs of which include shortness of breath, coughing up blood, and/or pain when breathing.
