10 Things You Need to Know About Blood Clots

6. Deep Vein Thrombosis

Maybe you’ve heard of deep-vein thrombosis before, or maybe you haven’t. Deep-vein thrombosis (DVT), is one of the more sinister types of blood clots, as blood clots can come loose and travel from your leg to your lungs causing a pulmonary embolism.  DVT is a blood clot that forms in one of the deep veins in your body (hence the name), which is usually in the leg. DVT is tricky because though there can be symptoms like swelling or leg pain, there can also be zero symptoms, making it much harder to notice and treat.
