Measles Rash
The most easily recognizable sign of measles infection is a unique rash that accompanies it. The measles rash is easily distinguishable from other types of rash because it consists primarily of flat markings that take up large patches of skin. The rash usually begins at the top of the head and works its way down the body. It can last up to a week and often creates a burning sensation or intense itching. In either case, the rash will fade as the body fights the virus.
Due to the uniquely contagious nature of the measles virus, it is of the utmost importance that if you or someone you know suspects they have contracted the virus that they seek medical assistance immediately.
