6. Measles Complications
Measles can lead to devastating complications. Some people are more susceptible to complications than others. The CDC states that children under 5 and adults older than 20 are more likely to suffer complications from measles. Complications can be as severe as pneumonia and encephalitis, or as mild as diarrhea. An ear infection resulting from measles could lead to permanent hearing loss. Any sign of an earache should immediately be reported to your healthcare provider for treatment.
