10. Age
Age is a big factor in a couple’s ability to achieve pregnancy. Women are at their most fertile in their twenties, with fertility decreasing rapidly as a woman approaches forty. Women are born with a finite number of eggs, and hormonal changes cause these eggs to decrease in quality as a woman gets older. The chances of achieving a viable pregnancy after forty is low. While men can produce sperm no matter their age, men are not immune to fertility issues caused by age. As men get older, their sperm quality, count, and motility can decrease and cause issues with getting their partners pregnant.
