8. Lice and STDs Are Strange Bed Fellows
Crab lice are often detected as a result of the discovery of another more obvious STD. When visiting the doctor due to symptoms from scabies, gonorrhea, or a urinary tract infection, pelvic lice can also be discovered.
The one major difference between men or women becoming infected with crabs is that pelvic lice can be transmitted even if there is no penetration. Just the simple close contact of an infected hair with another person’s body hair causes crabs to crawl onto them or another surface like sheets.
