2. Basal Body Temperature
If you are using the basal body temperature method, you will check your temperature every morning. You should check your temperature when you wake up each morning and chart it to determine your baseline. Make sure to check it at about the same time every morning. Approximately 12 to 24 hours prior to your ovary releasing an egg, your body temperature will drop about one degree. When you see your temperature drop, you should avoid intercourse. On average, this will be for two to three days. Once your temperature returns to its baseline, you can resume intercourse. The risk of getting pregnant using Basal Body Temperature method is about 24 out of 100 but requires you to be motivated and diligent.
