This natural birth control method uses your cervical mucus to determine what days you have the highest chances of getting pregnant. Throughout your menstrual cycle, the cervix produces mucus. It is typically sticky and dry. However, as you get close to ovulating, the mucus changes and becomes slippery, wet and more abundant. When you notice this change, you should avoid unprotected intercourse. You should record the characteristics of your cervical mucus each day, so that it is easier to see when changes occur.
