3. A Fever that Comes out of Nowhere
Fever, 100.4° F or higher, normally indicates an infection. Fever is a common symptom in women with PID. It often occurs in severe cases of the disease and may start suddenly or become worse following a consistent low-grade fever. The fever may be accompanied by chills or cold sweats. If your fever lasts more than a few days and is accompanied by other symptoms, such as abdominal pain, you should see your doctor. Early treatment for PID can prevent ectopic pregnancy.
