5. Swollen Lymph Nodes
In addition to a high or low-grade fever, your lymph nodes may become swollen as a sign of PID. Lymph nodes are small, soft, bean-shaped nodules or tissue located at various points of the body. They become enlarged when bacteria enter the body and cause an infection. Lymph nodes in the neck and behind the ears are the ones that frequently swell. Just like a fever, swollen lymph nodes are a clear sign that the body is fighting off an infection.
