5. Before a Hysterectomy
Prior to hysterectomy surgery a physician will perform both a pelvic exam and pap smear. To rule out or detect certain types of cancer a biopsy might be performed. All of these processes help to diagnose and determine if a hysterectomy is the proper course of action.
