Osteoporosis – 10 Things You Need to Know

8. Osteoporosis Pain

How far advanced the disease is determines the severity of the pain. If you are in the early onset of osteoporosis, you might not experience any pain.  As time goes by, you may begin to experience soreness and/or stiffness. Osteoporosis pain usually accompanies a fracture. The most common types are spinal compression fractures resulting in severe and sudden back pain. With most fractures the bones can heal themselves. With osteoporosis on the other hand, bones don’t heal as quickly and pain lasts longer. If you are experiencing ongoing pain in your bones and joints, consult a doctor.
