7. Pain
While there is a chance you may not feel any symptoms, pain is one of the more telling signs of diverticulitis. Pain can vary from mild discomfort to excruciating pain, depending on the level of inflammation. Typically pain will begin after you finish a meal. Discomfort after eating is often relieved upon passing gas. Even if the pain temporarily eases, it’s important to follow up on this feeling. Many people think this is a passing symptom as it goes away after awhile. However, this will only worsen the condition.
