8. Nuts and Dried Fruit
While it has never been scientifically proven that nuts have a negative effect on diverticulitis, according to information on the Mayo Clinic website, there are hundreds of anecdotal accounts of people who claim that nuts and dried fruit cause a lot of discomfort. Nuts are notoriously difficult to digest, high in fat (good fat), and not an essential part of a daily diet. So, it’s a good idea to leave them out of your diet until your symptoms have passed.
