6. Testicular Torsion
If you think this sounds painful, you couldn’t be more right. A sore testicle is a walk in the park compared to this. Testicular torsion occurs when a testicle rotates and twists the spermatic cord that brings blood to the testicle. In addition to a swollen testicle, the reduction in blood flow causes sudden and severe left or right testicle pain that can’t be ignored. Urgent surgery is needed for the testicle to be saved. To prevent future twisting, the jumpy testicle will be re-set and sewn to the inside of your scrotum. Another procedure will have to be done for the other testicle. The idea of having your testicles stitched to your scrotum is not enticing but may be a welcome idea to avoid the pain that may follow.
