2. Warning Signs and Symptoms
The most obvious warning sign for testicular torsion is severe pain and swelling in the scrotum. There are some other symptoms you can watch out for that may indicate torsion. These symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea and/or vomiting, fever, and frequent urination. Often you can see a distinct visual difference in the positioning of your testicles. For example, one testicle may be positioned higher than normal. When recognizing this sign it’s helpful to know how your testicles normally sit (i.e. which one is typically higher), so that you know if there is an abnormality.
