6. Treating Testicular Torsion
The primary way to treat testicular torsion is through surgical intervention. The purpose of surgery is to restore blood flow to the testicles as quickly as possible. There is an increased risk of permanent damage or tissue death if blood flow isn’t restored fast enough. In addition to surgery, your doctor may be able to manually untwist the spermatic cord. This is manual detorsion which is quite rare. Regardless, you should seek emergency treatment right away, and let the doctors decide how to proceed.
