7. Surgical Repair
Orchiopexy is the surgical repair of testicular torsion. During surgery the testicles are attached to the inside of the scrotum. The reason for this is to prevent further torsion problems. This type of surgery is also performed on undescended testicles. Surgery might be the best treatment or prevention for you, especially if you’ve experienced intermittent torsion and detorsion before. Be sure to talk to your doctor about what’s best for you, and make sure to ask them any question you have about post-surgery side effects.
