3: Symptoms Do Not Occur Right Away
Another thing to keep in mind is that symptoms may not occur right away. For most people, symptoms do appear within 14 days or so, but that’s not necessarily true for everyone. Some people do not even notice the symptoms. That’s why you want to be on the lookout for them. Symptoms include infection in the rectum, eyes or throat, a burning sensation when urinating or conjunctivitis. For men, the symptoms can include discharge from the penis, inflammation of the foreskin and swollen testicles. For women, there may be vaginal discharge or heavier bleeding during and between periods.
