9: Any Age Can Contract Gonorrhea
Although most of the people that get gonorrhea are between the ages of 15 and 24, the infection can happen in any age group. In fact, a recent Dutch study found that swingers – couples who engage in partner swapping or attend parties where there is a lot of group sex – had the same transmission rates as teenagers no matter what age they were. Even people who think that they are well past the risky age groups like the elderly should get tested for gonorrhea if they think they have symptoms of it.
