10. Spotting Between Periods
There are a number of conditions that can cause spotting between menstrual cycles. Many of them are not sexually related. For instance, birth control, stress, a hormonal imbalance, and uterine fibroids are all common causes of metrorrhagia or inter-menstrual bleeding. However, you should be aware that Gonorrhea and Chlamydia, two of the most common sexually transmitted diseases, also often result in spotting. If you are experiencing abnormal vaginal bleeding and there is a chance that it is serious you should seek medical attention right away.
