5. Fever
A fever is a sign of an infection somewhere in your body. STDs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV can cause a fever in the later stages of infection. Fever can be accompanied by enlarged lymph nodes, nausea, and cough. Keep in mind that these are very generalized symptoms that might be caused by several different infections. However, if you have been sexually active and think there’s a chance of infection, it is important to disclose this information to your doctor. The more information you provide the more likely you are to receive an accurate diagnosis.
