8. Oral STD Symptoms
STDs aren’t just confined to the genital area; they can cause infections in the mouth as well. Oral STD symptoms usually include painless sores in the mouth and lesions in or around the mouth. Oral chlamydia can be transmitted via oral sex with an infected partner, as can the HPV and herpes viruses (although herpes is typically spread through intercourse). Symptoms of an oral HPV infection can include warts in the throat, trouble speaking, and changes in the voice.
