8. Shortness of Breath
Shortness of breath is a possible symptom of a blood clot in the lung. In fact, if you are finding it hard to breath, that may be stronger indication of clotting. When blood clots form, they start to block blood flow to the lung, and that’s bad. Prolonged loss of blood flow in any part of the body can lead to tissue damage, or even tissue death. So, if you find yourself with shortness of breath and you’re coughing up blood, that could indicate you have a blood clot in the lung. Chest pain, shortness of breath, and coughing up blood are the main symptoms of pulmonary embolism – so be on the watch!
