A diagnosis of a sexually transmitted disease isn’t a death sentence like it might have been in the past. Many people infected with the virus are able to continue to live happy, fulfilling lives. Having the virus just means they always have to practice safe sex and avoid stress triggers that can cause an HSV-II outbreak. If symptoms reappear see a doctor immediately. Beyond that, people with HSV-II can live normal lives.
