7. Coughing
If you aren’t sure if you have a blood clot in your lung, there is one major symptom that will indicate that you do. A blood clot in the lung is called a pulmonary embolism (lung blockage in basic speak) and it can be very serious. If you have a small clot in your lung, it might not be such an “uh oh” situation. However, if you have a large blood clot in your lung it could come loose or get so big that it stops blood flow to the lung. If you are coughing up blood, or what appear to be clots of blood, go to the doctor’s. The most noticeable symptom of clotting in the lung is coughing, but there are some other telltale signs of a blood clot in the lung that we’ve mentioned.
